It has a semi-weeping habit and smooth powdery bark over the length of the tree that is pale pink when new and becomes whiter as it ages. The adult leaves are alternately arranged and have a narrowly lanceolate to lanceolate shaped blade. The concolorous, dull green to grey-green leaves are {{convert|8|to|22|cm|in|0}} in length and {{convert|1.2|to|3|cm|in|2|abbr=on}} wide with a base tapering to the petiole.[1] TaxonomyThe species was first formally described by the botanists Neville Walsh and David Edward Albrecht in 1998 as part of the work A new species of Eucalyptus (series Subexsertae) from the Northern Territory as published in the journal Muelleria.[2] The specific epithet is in reference to the Gregory National Park which was named for the explorer Augustus Charles Gregory who explored this area in 1855 and 1856.[1] DistributionThe tree has a small range and is found in the Gregory National Park and the Victoria River Downs region in the top end of the Northern Territory where it is found up on the sandstone plateaus and cliffs over seasonal water courses.[1] See also{{Portal|Trees}}
