It is a European network of European and national information centers for young people and those involved with them.[2] It offers youth information and international learning opportunities and is an organisation supported by the Erasmus+ programme (2014–2020).[3][4] In 2004, Eurodesk – with the help of its financier European Commission - launched the European Youth Portal.[5] From 2007 to 2013, Eurodesk was part of the Youth in Action programme. Through the participation of the Erasmus+ programme in the year 2014, Eurodesk is already present in 5 countries. In the year 2015 Eurodesk celebrated its 25th anniversary. Mission and servicesEurodesk has offices in 35 countries and a network of more than 1.000 multipliers. In those centres/offices the Eurodesk multipliers carry out Eurodesk's mission which is ‘to raise awareness among young people on learning mobility opportunities and encourage them to become active citizens.’ [6] The Eurodesk network provides young people with support and information about actual mobility opportunities in the 34 countries where it operates. Furthermore, they offer international training opportunities, national support and regular meeting opportunities as well as free access to learning mobility information for young people in collaboration with Erasmus+ (Scholarships, Internships, Grants, Trainings, Competitions). Eurodesk Brussels Link (EBL) is responsible for the coordination and managing of the Eurodesk brand. As well as offering information about funding, acts, publications, and answering services, they make sure the national centers comply with the organizations objectives and ultimate mission. Besides that, it provides first-hand European information on youth mobility as well as tools for training, information management, quality assessment and communication. Other tasks of Eurodesk Brussels Link include: supporting the European Commission in developing and maintaining the European Youth Portal, assessing the quality of Eurodesk national centres, regularly adapting European contents and providing technical support.[7] References1. ^Statutes are both in English and French.
