Evgeny Ilich Zharikov (Russian: Евгений Ильич Жариков; February 26, 1941, Moscow — January 18, 2012, Moscow[1]) was a Soviet and Russian film actor, People's Artist of the RSFSR (1989). Winner of USSR State Prize (1978).

Biography

Born the sixth and last child of the Soviet writer Leonid Zharikov (passport — Ilya Milahievich Zharikov) February 26, 1941 in Moscow.[2] He spent his childhood in the suburbs, under the Zagorsk (now — Sergiev Posad), in the family and grandparents, with four years ruled by horses, crafts mastered.

In 1959 he entered VGIK, in the second year of study for the first time appeared in the movie. In 1964, after graduation, he went to East Germany, where for two years starred in the title role in the local series Russian for you. After his return, in 1966 — actor theater-studio movie actor in Moscow, a lot in films and on television. Member of the CPSU since 1970.

All-Union fame Zharikov brought filmed in the 1970s television series Born to a revolution about the formation of the Soviet militia and its fight against crime in the 1920s. At the height of his career he started with health problems: in 1970 on the set of the movie Death no, guys!, Fell at full gallop with the horse, he got a hip injury and a compression fracture of the spine.

Since 1988 to 2000 President of the Guild of Actors of Soviet cinema (since 1991 — Russian Film Actors Guild).[3]

In 1999 underwent two complex operations with prosthetics.[2]

Total has played in nearly 70 films. He participated in the dubbing of more than 200 films.

Personal life

  • The first marriage (1962-1974) a figure skating coach Valentina Zotova (born in 1936) lasted 12 years and ended in divorce.
  • The second marriage with actress Natalia Gvozdikova was registered after a year of dating on the set of the movie Born to a revolution. According to the script of the film, they also have spouses. August 2, 1976 was born the son of Fyodor Zharikov, who became a translator from French, now works as the chief information security officer in aircraft.

In 1994-2001 Zharikov have had an affair with journalist Tatyana Alekseevna Sekridova (born 1960), who in 1995 gave birth to his son, Sergei and daughter Katya. After Sekridova released information about this connection, Zharikov end the relationship.[2]

Death

He died January 18, 2012 in Moscow, at the Botkin hospital of cancer.[4] He was buried on January 21 in the actor's alley Troyekurovskoye Cemetery.[5]
