释义 |
The Excelsior Masonic Temple (now the Life Restoration Church) is a historic building located at 2422 West National Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Built in 1923, and designed in the Classical Revival style by architect Richard Oberst,[1] the building was originally constructed as a meeting hall for Excelsior Lodge #175 F.&A.M (a local Masonic Lodge that is no longer in existence). The building was sold by the Lodge in the 1990s,[2] and is now used by a local church.[3] The building is deemed to be eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places, but was not listed due to owner objection.[4] References1. ^{{cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=iCEl1sqlZLQC&pg=RA1-PA390&lpg=RA1-PA390&dq=Richard+Oberst+architect&source=bl&ots=D1RQbdHjtm&sig=5WZXi1fM47Vi0YqSnVfjgqT_fl8&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj1lZC31NbRAhVE1oMKHSIbAbkQ6AEILTAC#v=onepage&q=Richard%20Oberst%20architect&f=false |title=Wisconsin Encyclopedia 2008-2009 Edition |editor=Jennifer Herrman| page=390 |publisher=State Historic Publications}} {{coord missing|Wisconsin}}2. ^History of Excelsior Lodge, Lake Masonic Center website 3. ^Life Restoration Church website 4. ^Property listing on the Wisconsin Historical Society website 4 : Masonic buildings completed in 1923|Former Masonic buildings in Wisconsin|Buildings and structures in Milwaukee|20th-century churches in the United States |
