Urostigma | species = katendei | authority = Verdc. | synonyms = | synonyms_ref = }}Ficus katendei is a rare species of fig in the family Moraceae native to southwest Uganda.[1][2] Discovered in 1998, it is named after a Mr. Katende of Makerere University who was the original specimen collector.[3] It is listed as one of the world's 100 most threatened species by the IUCN. Like many figs, it initially grows as an epiphyte and then later develops in to a freestanding tree, and inhabits riparian forest as well as lower montane forest.[3] References1. ^{{Cite web|url=http://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:1000391-1|title=Ficus katendei Verdc. {{!}} Plants of the World Online {{!}} Kew Science|website=Plants of the World Online|access-date=2018-09-29}} {{Taxonbar|from=Q3071415}}{{Moraceae-stub}}2. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.ipni.org/ipni/idPlantNameSearch.do?id=1000391-1|title=IPNI Plant Name Details|website=www.ipni.org|access-date=2018-09-29}} 3. ^1 {{Cite journal|last=Verdcourt|first=B.|date=1998|title=A New Species of Ficus (Moraceae) from Uganda|journal=Kew Bulletin|volume=53|issue=1|pages=233–236|doi=10.2307/4110464|jstor=4110464}} 2 : Ficus|Flora of Uganda |
