Early careerPetrušev was born in Belgrade, Serbia, FR Yugoslavia. He started to play basketball for youth teams of Serbian powerhouses Crvena zvezda and Partizan.[1] In 2014, Petrušev signed for youth team of Spanish club Laboral Kutxa. Over seven tournament games in 2017, he averaged 5.3 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.[8][9] In 2018, he averaged 21.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game over seven tournament games.[10] Petrušev had 29 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists in the Final.
