In 2015 it became the first-listed historic site in Carter County to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Carter was the last of Montana's 56 counties to get one.[2] It was designed and built by contractor V.E. Figg. (1893-1984).[3] It is the only Streamline Moderne building in Ekalaka. It now serves as the town's town hall and public library.[3] References1. ^ {{National Register of Historic Places}}{{Authority control}}{{Montana-NRHP-stub}}2. ^{{cite news|url=http://billingsgazette.com/news/local/historic-designation-for-ekalaka-bank-means-each-of-montana-s/article_7d0533c9-d42c-54c0-8550-9fe3b3158580.html |title=Historic designation for Ekalaka bank means each of Montana's 56 counties has a historic gem |author=Mike Ferguson |date=December 25, 2015 |accessdate=April 5, 2017}} 3. ^1 {{cite web|url=https://www.nps.gov/nr/feature/places/pdfs/15000815.pdf |title=National Register of Historic Places Registration: First National Bank of Ekalaka and Rickard Hardware Store Building / Ekalaka Townhall/Library |author=John Boughton and Lisa Jourdan |date=July 15, 2015 |accessdate=April 5, 2017 }} 6 : National Register of Historic Places in Montana|Buildings and structures completed in 1940|Carter County, Montana|City halls in Montana|Libraries in Montana|Streamline Moderne architecture in Montana |
