It was originally presented on the cover of the anthology Poems for the Hazara.[1][2] Hazaristan[3] is a modern incarnation of Hazarajat, a mountainous region in central Afghanistan, in the Hindu Kush mountain range. Hazaristan is not an independent country, but has been home to the Hazara people since antiquity, first referenced by extant literature (as Turkic Hazarajat[4]) in Baburnama, the Chagatai-language memoirs of Mughal Emperor Babur. DesignThe color combination of the flag symbolizes the Hazara people's roots and origin, sky, their loyalty, long winter in Hazaristan, their future and development.[5][6][7][8][9] HistoryThe Flag of Hazaristan was designed by the Hazara poet and activist Kamran Mir Hazar.[10][11] References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://fullpagepublishing.com/?p=170 |title=Poems for the Hazara: A Multilingual Poetry Anthology and Collaborative Poem by 125 Poets from 68 Countries |publisher= Full Page Publishing |date= |accessdate=2017-04-18}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Hazaristan, Flag of}}2. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.hazararights.com/spip.php?article33 |title=Poets and readers, a Photo Gallery |publisher= Hazara Rights |date= |accessdate=2017-04-18}} 3. ^{{Cite book|url=https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=1ppw7-NEsEsC&pg=PA156&dq=%22hazaristan%22+hazarajat&hl=en&sa=X&ei=GyRyT4DGH4bi0QG877W3AQ&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=%22hazaristan%22%20hazarajat&f=false|title=DISAPPEARING PEOPLES?: INDIGENOUS GROUPS AND ETHNIC MINORITIES IN SOUTH AND CENTRAL ASIA|last=Brower|first=Barbara|last2=Johnston|first2=Barbara Rose|date=2007|publisher=Left Coast Press|isbn=9781598741216|language=en}} 4. ^{{Cite book|url=https://archive.org/details/baburnamainengli01babuuoft|title=The Babur-nama in English (Memoirs of Babur)|last=Babur|first=Emperor of Hindustan|last2=Beveridge|first2=Annette Susannah|date=1922|publisher=London, Luzac|others=Robarts - University of Toronto}} 5. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.hazarapeople.com/2013/10/31/flag-of-hazaristan/ |title=Flag of Hazaristan |publisher= Hazara International Network |date= |accessdate=2017-04-18}} 6. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.kamranmirhazar.com/2013/11/11/%D8%A8%DB%8C%D8%B1%D9%82%DB%8C-%D8%A8%D8%B1%D8%A7%DB%8C-%D9%87%D8%B2%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%A7%D9%86/ |title=Flag of Hazaristan |publisher= Kamran Mir Hazar |date= |accessdate=2017-04-18}} 7. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.kabulpress.org/article178969.html |title=بیرقی برای هزارستان |publisher= Kabul Press |date= |accessdate=2017-04-18}} 8. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.facebook.com/FlagOfHazaristan/ |title=Flag of Hazaristan |publisher= Official Facebook page of the Flag of Hazaristan |date= |accessdate=2017-04-18}} 9. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/af-hazar.html |title= Hazaristan |publisher= The CRW Flags |date= |accessdate=2017-04-18}} 10. ^{{Cite book|isbn=978-0983770862|title=Poems for the Hazara: A Multilingual Poetry Anthology and Collaborative Poem by 125 Poets from 68 Countries |publisher= Full Page Publishing |date= }} 11. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.hazararights.com/spip.php?article29 |title=Poets discover Hazara while NATO fails to protect them from terrorists |publisher= Hazara Rights |date= |accessdate=2017-04-18}} 6 : National flags|Hazara history|Flags of country subdivisions|Hazarajat|Flags introduced in 2013|Flags of Afghanistan |
