释义 |
The Ford FX-Atmos was a concept car built by the Ford Motor Company for the 1954 Chicago Auto Show.[1] According to one source, it was considered as a candidate for a nuclear power plant.[2] It was styled after jet aircraft, with headlight/ front fender pods mounting radio antennas and bearing a strong resemblance to ramjet air intakes; it also had rocket exhaust styled taillights, and prominent tail fins. The cabin set the driver on the centerline and provided two rear seats, all under a clear dome. The driver's controls and instruments were also futuristic, with dual handgrips instead of a steering wheel and a screen on the dash-intended to display radar sourced highway information.[3][4] It has been suggested that the FX-Atmos was a significant inspiration in the design of Supercar in the Gerry Anderson TV series of that name.[5] References1. ^[https://www.chicagoautoshow.com/concepts/vehicle/1954/ford/fx-atmos/#1954 Ford FX-Atmos on the 1954 entry at chicagoautoshow.com] Accessed 9 January 2018 {{Ford concept vehicles}}2. ^[https://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z1165/ford-fx-atmos.aspx Manufacturers/ Ford/ 1954 Ford FX Atmos at conceptcarz.com] Accessed 9 January 2018 3. ^1954 Ford FX-Atmos – Motor Trend’s Lost Photos, at motortrend.com Accessed 9 January 2018 4. ^Old Concept Cars Blog Ford FX-Atmos Concept Car (1954) Accessed 9 January 2018 5. ^Supercar: Origin, in Supercar section at aiai.ed.ac.uk Accessed 9 January 2018 1 : Ford concept vehicles |
