Franklin High School was a public high school in Franklin in Sussex County, New Jersey, United States. The school closed in 1982, with the opening of Wallkill Valley Regional High School.

History

Known originally as Franklin Industrial School, the school's first graduating class was in 1924, while the first regular class graduated four years later. During an era when Sussex County had a limited number of high schools, Franklin High School at various points served students from Hamburg, Hardyston Township, Jefferson Township, Ogdensburg and Vernon Township. The school closed in 1982, with the opening of Wallkill Valley Regional High School, at which point the high school building was repurposed for use as Franklin Elementary School.[1]

Notable alumni

  • Mike Ferrara (born 1958), retired American basketball player best known for his collegiate career[2]
