He had 20 appearances for Venezuela between 1964 and 1977.[1] Sport activityFreddy Elie Elie stood out for his ability to pitch and for his speed, the same that made him famous in the sixties to play a tunnel to the legendary Pele. He grew up in La Guayra, Venezuela, debuting professionally with "Deportivo Galicia", then moving to Deportivo Italia in 1970 and later to "Portuguesa FC. With Deportivo Italia he participated as a central defender in the Small Maracanazo in 1971, a match won in the Maracana of Rio de Janeiro with the Fluminense FC (Brazilian Champion) of the "wolf" Zagallo (who had just conquered the World Cup in 1970).[2] He had 20 appearances for Venezuela national football team between 1964 and 1977.[3] In 1973, he was signed by Alianza Lima.[4] Freddy Elie finished his career in 1981 in Venezuela with the "Universidad de Los Andes", after playing for the "Tiquire-Canarias" and for the "Lara Fútbol Club".
