The design is out of production.[1][2] The boat was built by Tillotson Pearson in the United States for Freedom Yachts.[1] DesignThe Freedom 28 is a small recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wood trim. It has a free-standing masthead sloop rig, with a "Bierig" jib, an internally-mounted spade-type rudder and a fixed fin keel. It displaces {{convert|6370|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} and carries {{convert|2540|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} of lead ballast.[1] The boat is fitted with a Japanese Yanmar 2GMF diesel engine of {{convert|13|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}}.[1] See also
