His work can be seen at the Gilcrease Museum, the Museum of Western Art, and the Phoenix Art Museum. LifeWhite was born on January 14, 1930 in Southwest Ohio.[1][2][3] He began studying art at age 12, and he served in the Korean War as a Marine.[2][3] He graduated from the University of Cincinnati, where he played football.[1][3] White began designing sculptures in 1962,[3] and he joined the Cowboy Artists of America in 1972.[2] In 1978, he was one of the first artists to move to Loveland, Colorado; it later became an art colony for sculptors.[4] White turned an old church into his studio.[5] White won seven gold medals for his sculptures from the CAA.[2] His work was added to the collections of the Gilcrease Museum and the Phoenix Art Museum.[6] A large sculpture he designed for the Museum of Western Art in Kerrville, Texas stands in front of the main entrance.[6] With his wife Ina, White resided in Loveland, Colorado.[2] He died on April 11, 2010.[2] References1. ^1 {{cite web |title=Fritz White |url=https://cowboyartistsofamerica.com/members/deceased/fritz-white |website=Cowboy Artists of America |accessdate=February 14, 2019}} {{DEFAULTSORT:White, Fritz}}2. ^1 2 3 4 5 {{cite news |last=Arnold|first=Gail |title=Fritz White: Imagination Becomes Bronze Reality |url=https://www.newspapers.com/image/13317060/?terms=%22Fritz%2BWhite%22 |accessdate=February 14, 2019 |work=Kerrville Mountain Sun |location=Kerrville, Texas |date=June 27, 1990|page=41|via=Newspapers.com|registration=yes}} 3. ^1 2 3 {{cite news |title=CA exhibit features works by Fritz White |url=https://www.newspapers.com/image/18812540/?terms=%22Fritz%2BWhite%22 |accessdate=February 14, 2019 |work=The Kerrville Times |location=Kerrville, Texas |date=March 3, 1994|page=14|via=Newspapers.com|registration=yes}} 4. ^{{cite news |last1=Weller |first1=Robert |title=Sculptors replace farmers in Colorado town |url=https://www.newspapers.com/image/231932280/?terms=%22Fritz%2BWhite%22%2B%22sculptor%22 |work=The Chicago Tribune |date=September 11, 2006|page=5|via=Newspapers.com|registration=yes}} 5. ^{{cite news |title=Sculptor At Work |url=https://www.newspapers.com/image/106768917/?terms=%22Fritz%2BWhite%22%2B%22sculptor%22 |accessdate=February 14, 2019 |work=The Anniston Star |location=Anniston, Alabama |date=August 24, 1989|page=31|via=Newspapers.com|registration=yes}} 6. ^1 {{cite news |last1=Looby |first1=Katie |title=Hundreds gather to honor White |url=https://www.newspapers.com/image/227249745/?terms=%22Fritz%2BWhite%22 |accessdate=February 11, 2019 |work=Fort Collins Coloradoan |location=Fort Collins, Colorado |date=April 25, 2010|page=11|via=Newspapers.com|registration=yes}} 11 : 1930 births|2010 deaths|People from Loveland, Colorado|University of Cincinnati alumni|United States Marine Corps personnel|American Marine Corps personnel of the Korean War|Sculptors from Ohio|Sculptors from Colorado|American male sculptors|20th-century American sculptors|21st-century American sculptors |
