The station would be built underground. The station is one of the southern termini of Line 9's Phase 1 to be built underneath East Service Road in Brgy. Western Bicutan, Taguig City. Portions of the station would also cross Parañaque City, as the area is near the border. The station is named after Food Terminal Inc., an economic zone in the area that now hosts a business district development named Arca South. The station is planned to be part of a massive transportation hub, with connections to the nearby PNR FTI station and the planned Taguig Integrated Terminal Exchange. After the completion of Phase 1, FTI maybe the last underground station of Line 9 services, as JICA proposes interoperation with the North-South Commuter Railway Project via Line 9 rolling stock switching over to the at-grade NSCR-South tracks after the station and operate through services to NSCR-South stations from Bicutan towards Calamba and vice versa[1].
