Political careerOlufumilayo Adesanya-Davis, is in the race for president of Nigeria in the 2019 elections. At the political front, her dream to be in the political race for Nigeria presidency was first birthed in 2015, but for President Jonathan's single candidacy choice by the PDP, where she is a member, and as such, made not known her intension. Again recently, within the power play of PDP in 2017, she saw the need for the registration of a party as APDP - Advanced Peoples’ Democratic Party, if the Makafi-faction of the PDP had not won. She is a very active member of the Women's wing of her Party in her State, LGA and Ward to-date. Currently, she has joined MAJA and she is the only PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE of MASS ACTION JOINT ALLIANCE (MAJA) PARTY, where she aspires to contest the 2019 Presidential election and MAJA is working in collaboration with the newly formed Coalition of United Political (CUPP) made up of about sixty (60) political parties. Following current political parties primaries againt 2019 election, she has just won the Mass Action Joint Alliance (MaJA) Presidential Ticket, at an affirmation ceremony by the party as the CONSENSUS CANDIDATE of MAJA. Adesanya-Davies a true democrat and a detribalised Nigerian is now the PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE under the platform of the MASS ACTION JOINT ALLIANCE (MAJA) PARTY/ COALITION OF UNITED POLITICAL PARTIES (CUPP), GRAND ALLIANCE- Resque Nigeria 2018, where she aspires to contest the 2019 President election. Princess Mercy Adesanya-Davies always believes in "Power to the Women and to the Youth of this generation for the prosterity of our unborn children." She says "when a woman is in power, the Youth and Children are better empowered and catered for, so also is the entire society." Her academic exposure and reputation as an experienced teacher or lecturer like all and every past Nigerian civilian president, is her assured basis of confidence to win the next presidency. A versatile academic and educational prodigy, prolific journalist, widely read, travelled, poet, author, editor, activist, who was in the Versity in the 80s, when Nigerian Universities were well respected in the global academic community, her vision is to pay back to the Nigerian community which nurtured her to the current status. As such she speaks about vision and mission for Nigeria and not any personal ambition at all. "Nigerians deserve better and need to make their own CHOICE, rather than been blown away by any wind or deceptive chant of empty 'change' " she says. As Germany and Liberia have set the pace for female leadership, it's up to Nigeria to join the train in 2019 as the men have had a fair share of their quota in this nation without so much to show for it. The youths are tired, the children are suffering, the men are dying, and the women bear the brunt of it all. Social media has widely demonstrated the interest of Mercy 'Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies, especially on Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram etc., where her numerous striking posters are displayed as PRINCESS MERCY ADESANYA-DAVIES - PMA, with the tag "Choice! Choice!! Choice!!!” showing that she is the first female presidential aspirant for 2019, with the determination to "CHANGE the change." The mission statement is ‘By choice, to build a new Nigeria now and for posterity’ and the vision is to restructure and make Nigeria great by empowering Nigerians to live qualitative lives obtainable in every developed country of the world and become a global model’. Her vision is to pay back to the Nigerian community which nurtured me to my current status. We have a vision and mission for Nigeria and not for any personal ambitions. One who cherishes the ideals of a democratic, free and egalitarian society, she could emerge a ticket bearer as the only female candidate. "With God, all things are possible, as He makes everything beautiful in its time" she says. PMA is known for her leadership prowess and competence, strategic mind, ability and skills, vocal audacity, strong presence and personality. She demonstrates resilience as well as versatility, locally, nationally and internationally and political interest, education, humanitarian activities, general experience in administration, in over three decades. Again, Winner of several International awards and national awards including NANS 2018 Award of Outstanding Leadership, for which she received NANS' endorsement for 2019 presidential election, along with the Niger Delta Student Union Government (NDSUG) endorsement Adesanya-Davies is ready to accelerate Nigeria's growth via: Security, Education, Agricultural development, Poverty alleviation, Youth and Women development, Infrastructural development, Healthcare delivery, Industrial regeneration, Transportation, Housing, Pension improvement, with focus on Low income earners and Civil servants. "We need to produce a first Nigerian Female president towards a new Nation. We need to support the Advanced Restructuring Agenda of PMA-CHOICE for the prosperity of our unborn generations." She said.
