He played for Dunfermline Athletic for most of his career, helping the club win the 1960–61 Scottish Cup.[5] Peebles provided an assist for the first Dunfermline goal in their cup final victory against Celtic.[3] He moved to Stirling Albion in 1966 for a £4000 transfer fee.[3] Peebles later became a coach, managing Stirling Albion between 1986 and 1988.
