George A. Romey was a local realtor who worked in partnership with William L. Patton. He had Fred Lippert design this Prairie School house, which was built by J.M. Felt & Company in 1920.[2] Bruce Girton, the later owner, operated the family feed business. The two-story brick house features wide eaves, broad hip roof, and groups of casement windows.[3] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.[1] References1. ^1 {{NRISref|version=2010a}} {{National Register of Historic Places}}{{NRHP in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Romey, George, House}}{{Iowa-NRHP-stub}}{{Iowa-struct-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|url=http://iagenweb.org/cerrogordo/history/cg_hist_MCPrairieArch.htm|title=Mason City's Prairie School Architecture|publisher=Iowa GenWeb|accessdate=2016-12-05|author=}} 3. ^{{cite web|url={{NRHP url|id=80001437}}|title=George Romey House|publisher=National Park Service|accessdate=2016-12-05|author=Ronald Schmitt}} with {{NRHP url|id=80001437|photos=y|title=photos}} 5 : Houses completed in 1920|Prairie School architecture in Iowa|Houses in Mason City, Iowa|National Register of Historic Places in Mason City, Iowa|Houses on the National Register of Historic Places in Iowa |
