It served black students until the public school system was integrated. HistoryUntil 1950, black children in Kinder attended school in Oakdale. In 1962, 15 of 30 graduates attended college. Most of these went to Grambling State University or McNeese State University. Since there was no employment for negro college graduates in Kinder, the majority of the graduates find teaching positions in larger cities.[1] The school closed in 1970 when the public schools integrated.[2] References1. ^{{cite web |last1=Shorts |first1=Emily |title=A STUDY OF KINDER, LOUISIANA |url=http://ereserves.mcneese.edu/depts/archive/FTBooks/kinder.htm |accessdate=29 January 2019}} {{coord missing|Louisiana}}{{Louisiana-school-stub}}2. ^{{cite web |title=Allen Parish |url=https://africanamericanhighschoolsinlouisianabefore1970.com/2018/03/27/george-washington-carver-high-school-kinder-louisiana-allen-parish/ |accessdate=29 January 2019}} 4 : Public high schools in Louisiana|Schools in Allen Parish, Louisiana|1950 establishments in Louisiana|Educational institutions established in 1950 |
