释义 |
Gi FlyBike is a foldable electric bicycle that launched its successful crowdfunding campaign in 2015.[1] It can reach up to 20 mph on its full electric assistance.[2] Crafted from recyclable aircraft grade aluminum alloy, the bicycle is currently being manufactured with an estimated global delivery date in September 2017. The GI Fybike is manufactured by Bignay Inc., a developing company based in New York City. Lucas Toledo, Agustín Augustinoy and Eric Sevillia are its co-founders. This company has not delivered bikes to several backers and defrauded them. FeaturesGi FlyBike's features make the bike a sustainable, technologically-advanced and–perhaps most importantly–practical commuting option. Each of the following features are rooted in one simple question: how can a bicycle improve urban commuting?
HistoryWhile living and working in Argentina, the Founders of Gi FlyBike experienced a national strike which paralyzed public transportation across the country. The strike inspired the Founders to delve into the kinds of problems commuters face, and to critically examine alternative forms of transportation. As one of our early backers from Australia and New Zealand, your patience and commitment to our Gi Fly project has repeatedly been put to a test. To this day, you still haven’t received your bike. First of all, we have to offer our excuses. We are sorry that we haven’t been able to ship Gi Fly. But as importantly, we are sorry that we failed to communicate with you on a regular basis. You have a right to know what is going on, so from here on out we are committed to be as transparent as possible. When we started our Gi Fly crowdfunding campaign, we wanted to bring our idea of a more enjoyable commute to the whole world, no matter where you are located. However, between designing, producing and shipping the bike, a lot of time has passed, and international legislation changed. The laws that restrict the transport of Lithium-Ion batteries, such as the one we used for Gi Fly, have become firmer, which is why we weren’t able to ship our bike with our original certifications. We got asked by shipping companies to renew our material safety data sheet (MSDS) to this year’s version in order to ship Gi Fly. This is still a work in process and by our estimation, it should be done at the beginning of May. If all goes according to plan, we will then be able to ship our bikes by air to Australia and New Zealand by mid-May. We understand that you are frustrated due to the long wait, but we do believe in our product and that you will enjoy riding it. That said, if we haven’t found a solution by mid-May, we will prepare to issue refunds. Given the considerable number of backers in Australia and New Zealand, please understand that we see this as a last resort and that we are trying everything in our power to get you your Gi Fly. Please get in touch with us if you have any further questions. We’ll do our best to answer all the questions you may have. Thank you for being part of this journey. All the best, Lucas Toledo CEO Additional Information: I am an early backer of this bike (Dec 2015), live in New Zealand, Mr Toledo is correct, being in this country has been problematic for importation of the bike. However, 5 or 6 months ago I gave up on the bike and requested a refund. This was agreed by the company, but am still waiting for the money to be returned to me. I regularly make contact, but am now completely ignored. Obviously you can draw your own conclusions. Such a shame, my belief is they had good intentions but it has cost me thousands of dollars with nothing to show. I will update this entry if there is any change in the situation. J. Pearce See also
