Girls x Heroine! Series (ガールズ×ヒロインシリーズ (Gāruzu × Hiroin Shirīzu) or ガールズ×戦士シリーズ (Gāruzu × Senshi Shirīzu)) is a Japanese Tokusatsu series produced by TV Tokyo, Dentsu, OLM, Inc. and created by Takashi Miike. Each season revolves around magical girls who fight against enemies. The series began on April 2, 2017, with Idol × Warrior Miracle Tunes!.[1] Each series sells toys produced by Takara Tomy. The most recent season began airing on April 1, 2018, with Magic × Warrior Magimajo Pures![2] and announced its three-season Secret × Warrior Phantomirage!,[3] which will began airing on April 7, 2019. To date, there are two dubbed versions of Idol × Warrior Miracle Tunes! which are in Korean and in Thai. There has been a European release of Idol × Warrior Miracle Tunes! which released in Italy, Spain and will release in Britain.[4]

Overview

Each season focuses on elementary school and middle school girls who are given magical items to fight against evil beings. They are assisted by fairy mascots and together must battle ordinary people who have been turned evil by the enemy. Their job is to purify these beings and to collect various things which helps them in the battle ahead. As the seasons goes on, their magical powers get upgraded, enemies become stronger and along the way, they gain 2 more members who will assist them on their battles.

Main Series

3 seasons have currently been announced, the 2nd adaptation is currently still on air. Idol × Warrior Miracle Tunes! currently has been dubbed in 2 languages and has a European remake. Each of the series has a manga adaptation by Asaka Ogura published in Ciao (magazine) and Yuuki Harami published in Pucchigumi.

Idol Groups

Each series release a new idol group which help promote the television series. The members consist of the main cast of the drama and the group provides the opening and ending themes for the series. The groups held music activities under Sony Music Entertainment. The group remain active the amount of time the series are running and promote with their character names rather than their real ones. EXPG are in charge of song and dance supervision.

Miracle2 (Miracle Miracle)

Miracle2 [5][6] was the first idol group created in the Girls x Heroine! series, promoting from April 2017 (debut June 2017) until March 2018. Originally starting off with 3 members, they gained 2 new members (KARIKARI) in July before officially debuting with 5 in September 2017.

Magical2 (Magical Magical)

Magical2[7][8][9] are the 2nd idol group created in the Girls x Heroine! series, promoting from April 2018 (debut June 2018) until 2019. Originally starting off with 3 members, they gained another member in July 2018 and another member in August 2018.

Girls2 who will debut together for the first time after starring in the TV drama as a new girl group. Video Games

A video game for Idol × Warrior Miracle Tunes! was developed by FuRyu which was called Miracle Tunes! Game de Tune Up! da Pun! (ミラクルちゅーんず！ ゲームでチューンアップ！だプン！) was released for the Nintendo 3DS announced on August of 2017. It was released as both a physical copy and on the Nintendo 3DS eShop on November 9, 2017.[14]

Miracle Tune's Kanon's Idol Warrior outfit was made available in the game PriPara for the characters Michiru, Nino, Mirei, Laala, Yui, and Sophie through a card exclusively released in Pucchigumi on August 12, 2017.[15]

MagiMajo Pures' Momoka's Magic Warrior outfit was made available in the game Kiratto Pri Chan for the characters Mirai, Emo and Rinka through a card exclusively released in Pucchigumi on December 27, 2018.[16]

Phantomirage's Kokomi's Secret Warrior outfit will be made available in the game Kiratto Pri Chan through a card exclusively released in Pucchigumi on April 4, 2019.[17]
