词条 | Gladys Cooper (artist) |
释义 |
She worked in oil paint, starting with a picture (or partial picture) in a sketch book.[1] "She said she had never had a drawing lesson, so did not know much about perspective and shading, and couldn't draw people very well so that was why she often did back views." [1] "All her paintings, no matter how simple in their make-up, are shot through and through with haunting echoes of what she called 'our sinister times'."[2] She exhibited at London's Grosvenor Gallery and Portal Gallery.[1] Examples of her paintings from The Whitworth (Manchester), Glasgow Museums Resource Center, and Salford Museum and Art Gallery can be seen on Art UK.[3] References1. ^1 2 3 {{Cite book|url=https://www.worldcat.org/oclc/14376955|title=A world of their own : twentieth century British naïve painters|last=Jill.|first=Leman,|date=1985|publisher=Pelham Books|others=Leman, Martin.|year=|isbn=0720716098|location=London|pages=36|oclc=14376955}} {{authority control}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Cooper, Gladys}}2. ^1 {{Cite book|url=https://www.worldcat.org/oclc/3790544|title=Twentieth century British naïve and primitive artists|last=Eric.|first=Lister,|date=1977|publisher=Astragal Books|others=Williams, Sheldon,|year=|isbn=0851390838|location=London|pages=46|oclc=3790544}} 3. ^{{Cite web|url=https://artuk.org/discover/artists/cooper-gladys-18991975|title=Gladys Cooper|last=|first=|date=|website=Art UK|archive-url=|archive-date=|dead-url=|access-date=February 5, 2019}} 8 : Naïve painters|1899 births|1975 deaths|20th-century British painters|British women painters|Artists from Liverpool|People from Preston, Lancashire|20th-century British women artists |
