Godfrey Heathcote (1559-1638) was a British brazier and bellfounder notable for holding the position of Mayor of Chesterfield on five separate occasions. Godfrey was baptised in 1559 and was the son of Ralph Heathcote[1] In 1584 he was Constable in the town of Chesterfield and in 1594 and 1598 he was alderman. He held the position of mayor in 1599, 1606, 1610, 1618 and 1624.[2][3][4].
