}}{{more citations needed|date=June 2017}}The Golden Gate Philharmonic Orchestra(GGP) is a youth orchestra based in San Francisco, California. It is made up of four student orchestras; Cadet, Junior, Senior, and Camarata, ordered from least to most advanced.[1] AboutThe orchestra began in 1995 as an after-school enrichment program. It was founded by Joan Murray, who was the recipient of the Jefferson Award in 2014.[2] The orchestra has typically three orchestral performances a year, as well as four chamber music recitals.
