HistoryThe station opened as Eston Grange in 1885 by the North Eastern Railway. The station was situated about 1 km from the current Grangetown.[1] The station's name was changed to Grangetown in January 1902.[2] Grangetown was one of the stations to have been adversely affected due to the closure of factories, having only a few passengers left.[3] The station was closed to both passengers and goods traffic in November 1991.
