HackerEarth has conducted 1000+ hackathons and 10,000+ programming challenges till date. Since its inception, HackerEarth has built a developer base of over 2 million+[2]. HackerEarth has raised close to $5 million in funding over three rounds[3]. Today, more than 750 customers worldwide use its Sprint and Recruit platforms, including Amazon, Walmart Labs, Thoughtworks, Societe Generale, HP, VMware, DBS, HCL, GE, Wipro, Barclays, Pitney Bowes, Intel, and L&T Infotech[3][4]. HistoryFounded in November 2012 by Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee alumni Sachin Gupta and Vivek Prakash[5], HackerEarth began its journey as MyCareerStack[6][7] a social interactive platform geared toward technical interviews. Initially, the learning platform was aimed at leveling the playing field for technical interviews for campus students via tutorials on concepts in programming, blogs, interview questions, an online code editor, and a discussion forum. Later, Sachin and Vivek pivoted this idea to create an automated technical screening product[1] that helps in hiring skilled developers cost effectively — and launched the product in February 2013. Two years later, HackerEarth launched its innovation management software[8]; an upgraded version was released in early 2018. The startup was part of the first batch of GSF Accelerator in 2012[9], and it later secured $500,000 from early-stage investor Prime Ventures[10]. The Bangalore- and California-based company raised $4.5 million in a Series A[13] round led by DHI Group Inc. with participation from Prime Ventures and Beenext in February 2017[3]. As of July 2018, HackerEarth has 180 employees. The company is headquartered in Fremont, California, USA. Apart from offices in Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, and Delhi, HackerEarth has offices in London, U.K, as well. FundingHackerEarth raised a total of $5,000,000 in funding over three rounds. The startup secured $500,000 from startup incubator Angel Prime and GSF Accelerator in 2014. The Bangalore- and California-based company raised $4.5 million in a Series A[11] round led by DHI Group Inc. in April 2017. Products and ServicesRecruitRecruit is a technical recruitment platform[12] that helps organizations hire developers using automated technical talent tests. The proprietary tech assessment platform vets technical talent through skill-based evaluation and analytics. Companies also use the B2B product for lateral recruitment and university hiring. SprintSprint is an innovation management software solution that drives innovation through internal and external talent pools for organisations. Originally started as a hackathon organising tool, Sprint has evolved into idea management software (Sprint 2.0) for collaborative problem solving. Startup ConnectStartup Connect was launched in April 2018[13] as a launchpad for early-stage startups with a functional prototype to collaborate and co-innovate with large organizations, which provide mentorship, assistance, and resources, and fast-track their growth. For the startups registered with the program, HackerEarth conducts webinars, interviews, and meet-ups with industry leaders to provide tips to build ideas into successful companies. ChallengesHackerEarth Challenges include hackathons, programming challenges, and coding competitions for developers and companies. PracticeHackerEarth Practice offers programming tutorials (data structures, algorithms, math, Python, machine learning, etc.) and practice problems for developers to hone their skills. Code Monk v2.0 is a curated list of topics to help aspiring coders improve their programming skills. Awards and RecognitionHackerEarth was a finalist at the Seedstars World startup competition held in Geneva in February 2014[14].
