It blooms from July to October and produces plentiful small sweetly scented creamy-white and yellow flowers in clusters in the leaf axils. The rigid dark green leaves are terete, straight to slightly curved ending in a sharp point. The large ovoid fruit are a smooth grey tapering to a small blunt beak.[2][3] Taxonomy and namingThe species was first formally described by R.M. Barker in 1990.[1] It was named in honour of Western Australian botanist Kenneth Newbey.[2] Distribution and habitatGrows in the central and eastern wheatbelt region of Western Australia in sandy loam and lateritic gravelly soils.
