Hans Ola Urstad (born 11 April 1951) is a Norwegian diplomat.

He was born in Hidra, took the cand.polit. degree and started working for the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1980. He served as the secretary of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs from 1991 to 1995 before taking on the consul-general position in San Francisco. From 2000 to 2001 he was a special adviser in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, before serving as Norway's ambassador to Serbia and Montenegro from 2001 to 2005 and OSCE delegate in Serbia from 2006 to 2009. Following another stint as special adviser at home he served as Norway's ambassador to Malaysia from 2012 to 2017, then embassy secretary in the Philippines.[1]
