The 2000 Cleveland Indians season was the 100th season for the franchise, within the American Major League Baseball organization. For the season two new Players were signed; Chris Coste and Mark Whiten. The results of the season consisted of 90 wins and 72 losses.

Offseason

  • November 16, 1999: Chris Coste was signed as a free agent by the Indians.[1]
  • February 18, 2000: Mark Whiten was signed as a free agent by the Indians.[2]

Notable transactions

  • June 16, 2000: Mike Mohler was signed as a Free Agent with the Cleveland Indians.[3]
  • June 29, 2000: David Justice was traded by the Indians to the New York Yankees for Ricky Ledée, Jake Westbrook, and Zach Day.[4]
  • July 28, 2000: Ricky Ledée was traded by the Indians to the Texas Rangers for David Segui.[4]
  • July 28, 2000: Richie Sexson, Paul Rigdon, Kane Davis, and a player to be named later were traded by the Indians to the Milwaukee Brewers for Bob Wickman, Jason Bere and Steve Woodard. The Indians completed the deal by sending Marco Scutaro to the Brewers on August 30.[5]
