He is the CEO and chairman of General Electric since October 2018.[1] He is the first outsider to run GE in the company's 126-year history.[2] Prior to joining GE, Culp worked at Danaher Corporation in Washington, D.C. He joined the company in 1990 and served as CEO from 2001 through 2014. Culp joined the GE board of directors in April 2018.[1] Early life and educationCulp was born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area, the son of a small welding company owner. He earned a bachelor's degree from Washington College, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.[1] CareerCulp is also a senior advisor at Bain Capital Private Equity and a non-executive director of T.
