HMS Persian was a sixteen-gun {{sclass-|Acorn|brig-sloop}} built for the Royal Navy during the 1830s. DescriptionPersian had a length at the gundeck of {{convert|105|ft|1|in|m|1}} and {{convert|82|ft|9|in|m|1}} at the keel. She had a beam of {{convert|33|ft|6|in|m|1}}, a draught of {{convert|11|ft|9|in|m|1}} and a depth of hold of {{convert|14|ft|10|in|m|1}}. The ship's tonnage was 483 {{fraction|88|94}} tons burthen.[1] The Acorn class was initially armed with a pair of 32-pounder guns and fourteen 32-pounder carronades. The armament was later changed to four 32-pounder cannon and a dozen 32-pounder carronades.
