It was built in 1846-48 and served as the parish church of Bolventor until its closure in 1981. The church has been Grade II listed since 1988.[1] HistoryWith the formation of Bolventor as a parish in 1846,[1] plans were made for a church capable of accommodating 150 persons.[2] The foundation stone was laid in July 1846 by the church's builder, Francis Rashleigh Rodd of Trebartha Hall and £100 was granted towards its construction by the Exeter Diocesan Church Building Society in 1847.[3][2] The church, which cost £666 to build, was consecrated by the Bishop of Exeter, Henry Phillpotts, on 7 July 1848.[4] A restoration of the church was completed in 1965.[5] Due to a decline in congregation numbers, Holy Trinity closed in June 1981.[6] It was later acquired by private owners in 2011,[7] who were granted planning permission that year to transform the former church into a residence.[8] With a partial conversion carried out, the church was sold again in 2018.[7] References1. ^1 {{cite web|url=https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1328081 |title=HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, Altarnun - 1328081 |publisher=Historic England |date=1988-11-23 |accessdate=2019-03-31}} 2. ^1 Woolmer's Exeter and Plymouth Gazette - Church building association - 17 July 1847 - page 5 3. ^{{cite web|url=https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=00KoAwAAQBAJ&pg=PT32&dq=bolventor+church&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjUrd2w_KvhAhW-SRUIHZmmDzgQ6AEIMjAC#v=onepage&q=bolventor%20church&f=false |title=Exploring the River Fowey - John Neale - Google Books |publisher=Books.google.co.uk |date=2013-03-15 |accessdate=2019-03-31}} 4. ^Royal Cornwall Gazette - Cornish chronology for 1848 - 5 January 1849 - page 6 5. ^{{cite web|url=https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=00KoAwAAQBAJ&pg=PT34&lpg=PT34&dq=Bolventor+church+2011&source=bl&ots=SUctdbtCas&sig=ACfU3U3ooPTD_CwcDTleXVlmzLpr2w1plA&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj5l9f_gKzhAhU-QxUIHRDUCC84FBDoATACegQICRAB#v=onepage&q=Bolventor%20church%202011&f=false |title=Exploring the River Fowey - John Neale - Google Books |publisher=Books.google.co.uk |date=2013-03-15 |accessdate=2019-03-31}} 6. ^{{cite web|url=http://launcestonthen.co.uk/index.php/the-parishes/bolventor/ |title=The history of Bolventor near Launceston. |publisher=Launceston Then! |date= |accessdate=2019-03-31}} 7. ^1 {{cite web|author=Mike Smallcombe |url=https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/creepy-bodmin-moor-church-a30-2169895 |title=The creepy Bodmin Moor church by the A30 where a family and three spirits live |publisher=Cornwall Live |date=2018-10-31 |accessdate=2019-03-31}} 8. ^{{cite web|url=http://planning.cornwall.gov.uk/online-applications/buildingControlDetails.do?keyVal=LPZ2SEFG0JN00&activeTab=summary |title=BC11/02941/DOMFP | Conversion to Dwelling | Bolventor Church Launceston Cornwall PL15 7TS |publisher=Planning.cornwall.gov.uk |date= |accessdate=2019-03-31}} 3 : Church of England church buildings in Cornwall|Redundant churches|Grade II listed churches in Cornwall |
