词条 Huronic (steamship)
释义

  1. References

The Huronic was part of a fleet of passenger vessels built for service on the North American Great Lakes.[1]

She was retired in late 1949, a few months after her sister ship, the Noronic, had a catastrophic fire, at her moorings, in Toronto, killing 119 of her passengers.

She was launched, in Collingwood, in 1901.[2]

The Huronic ran aground, in 1913, off Whitefish Point, in Lake Superior.[2] There was no loss of life, although many other vessels that ran aground during the same storm did lose lives.

The Huronic ran aground, and was then refloated, off Isle Royale, in Lake Superior, in 1928.[4][5]

Other ships in the fleet included the Hamonic, the Doric, the Ionic.
