The Huron Phillies was the primary name of a minor league baseball team from Huron, South Dakota. Huron played in the Northern League from 1965 to 1970.

History

The Huron Phillies began play in 1965 after Grand Forks had first hosted the Huron Packers in 1920 and 1921. Huron was a minor league affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies (1965-1968) and Chicago Cubs (1969-1970), playing the last two seasons as the Huron Cubs . The franchise folded in 1970 and the Northern League folded in 1971.[1]

Previously, the Huron Packers (1920-1921)) had played in the Dakota League (1920) and South Dakota League (1921)[1]

Ballparks

Huron played at Memorial Park Stadium, located at 390 Jersey Avenue NE. The stadium is still in use today. [2][3]
