Tyuienon was born and raised in Canala in the Northern Province of New Caledonia. In the early 1990s she led the creation of a women’s federation in her province, which called for more women in positions of responsibility and decision-making, the creation of a Ministry of Women’s Rights and a focus on gender equality in government. Around the same time she helped form an association to promote traditional Kanak crafts and to teach traditional handcraft skills to young girls.[1] In 2018 she was appointed president of an NGO called "Women Countries".[2] References1. ^1 {{Cite news|url=http://www.spc.int/70-inspiring-pacific-women/isabelle-tyuienon/|title=Isabelle Tyuienon|date=2017-08-15|work=Pacific Community|access-date=2018-03-11|language=en-US}} {{Authority control}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Tyuienon, Isabelle}}2. ^{{Cite news|url=https://www.lnc.nc/article/pays/journee-des-femmes-entre-bilan-et-prise-d-elan|title=Journée des femmes entre bilan et prise d’élan|date=2018-03-09|work=LNC.nc {{!}} Les Nouvelles Calédoniennes, le Journal de Nouvelle Calédonie|access-date=2018-03-11|language=fr}} 3 : Living people|Year of birth missing (living people)|New Caledonian women |
