It was established by the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation No. 995 of November 28, 2012, by merging Ivanovo State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering and Ivanovo State Textile Academy. HistoryThe history of Ivanovo State Polytechnic University began in 2012 with combining the accumulated experience and traditions of the two universities - IGASU and IGTA. Their total age is over a century and a half.[1] Being the youngest university in the Ivanovo region ISPU continues nevertheless traditions of Ivanovo-Voznesensk Polytechnic Institute created in 1918 on the initiative of M.V. Frunze.[2] Enhancing the competitiveness and quality of education is the course as well as the unchanging and primary goal of the renovated university. The key drivers of its growth currently are perfection of the resource base, staff and scientific capacity building, maximum turn towards the real sector of economy and regional employers. The university demonstrates the steady growth of its positions, proved by the results of the annual ministerial monitoring of the universities effectiveness and by authoritative ratings. On April 24, 2018 by order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, Rumyantsev Evgeny Vladimirovich was appointed the Acting Rector of Ivanovo State Polytechnic University. He took the post of the head of the university after Robert Mishaevich Aloyan, whose term of employment contract had expired. Date of establishment of the educational institution The Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Ivanovo State Polytechnic University" was founded on November 28, 2012 as a result of merging the Ivanovo State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering and the Ivanovo State Textile Academy (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation No. 995of November 28, 2012). On April 22, 2013 the educational organization was registered as a legal entity. Engineering center of textile and light industry (IC TLI)IC TLI was established in 2014 as a result of the corporate reconstruction of the Department of Innovation activities of ISPU. CampusThe distribution of places in dormitories is carried out by the departments of the University. The starting date of the settlement is annually approved by the order of the university's rector. Nonresident students have primary right for settlement in the dormitories. Applicants for entry and accompanying persons during the enrollment campaign are provided with places for temporary residence. By the permission of the department of educational and social work close relatives are provided with places for temporary accommodation in the campus hostels with payment at the rates established by local regulatory enactments during the guest visit. Scientific conferencesThe international scientific and practical forum SMARTEX, held since 1998 in cooperation with the Institute of Solution Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is known far beyond the borders of the country, and in 2017 it became part of unified congress and exhibition events of the Russian Union of Textile and Light Industry Entrepreneurs (SOYUZLEGPROM). Within the Regional Festival "Young Science contribution to the Development of the Ivanovo Region", ISPU holds an interregional (with international participation) youth scientific and technical conference "Young Scientists contribution to the Development of the National Engineering Initiative" ("SEARCH") and interregional scientific and practical seminar "Genesis of Economic and social problems of economic entities in Russia". The main guidelines in the sphere of international relations are:- training of specialists for foreign countries; - extension of mutually beneficial bilateral and multilateral contacts with foreign universities, research centers, manufacturing companies through the academic exchange, joint research, the organization of scientific conferences, forums and seminars, and the strengthening of cultural contacts.Since 2010 representatives of well-known Russian and foreign scientific schools of textile design and garment design have repeatedly become winners and prize-winners of various international and all-Russian fashion festivals. In the international sphere the training of specialists from abroad prevails. In 2014-2017 Representatives of the University traveled to foreign educational and scientific centers for participation in international conferences, seminars, exhibitions (Hungary, Germany, Denmark, Egypt, Kazakhstan, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, France, Switzerland, Sweden), for participation in training (Germany and France), for teaching and consulting students (China, Kazakhstan, France) and participation in finals of international contests of clothing designers in China. Cooperation with the PRC occupies a special place in the international life of the university. Recreation centerThe country recreation center (guesthouse of ISPU) works all year round and receives students and employees of the university on vacation, as well as third-party holidaymakers. At a time, up to 40 people can be accommodated in the guesthouse. The recreation center is located in the Ivanovo region (town of Plyos, Kalinina street, 2) At the service of vacationers are: one two-storey residential building, kitchen, sanitary-utility unit, well-maintained green area. On the territory there is equipment for table tennis, billiards, sports equipment rentals and a library. Appeal: the guesthouse is located in the town of Plyos - the most picturesque place and one of the main tourist attractions of the Ivanovo region. This is an unusual and wonderful town, preserving its identity. The Volga River, mild climate and beautiful landscapes make this place attractive from a cultural and tourist point of view. LibraryThe library is one of the leading structural divisions of the university, the main tasks of which are: information support of science and education and promotion of the spiritual, educational and cultural development of the individual. The library serves more than 12 thousand users; about 70 thousand bibliographic units consulted are registered annually. Currently more than 1 million book units are kept in the library. International linguistic education centerThe International Linguistic Education Center of the Ivanovo State Polytechnic University, established on the basis of the Department of Foreign Languages, is engaged in the training of international students, as well as in linguistic support for the process of teaching Russian as a foreign language. Informatization of university activitiesResource opportunities of informatization are provided by more than 1000 PCs, united in a single corporate network and provided with access to the Internet, a computer class complex and workstation. ArtTheatre-studio of model artTheatre-studio of model art of Ivanovo State Polytechnic University trains young men and women aged 15 to 25 years. Training takes place in the following disciplines: defile technique, plastic movements, acting skills, photoposition, make-up technique and much more. Upon completion of training, a certificate of additional education is issued. The dance team "Universe City"The dance team "Universe City" was set up in 2015 on the basis of ISPU with the support of the Students'Trade Union Organization.
