}}Jane Ferguson (born 1984) is an Irish journalist who has covered issues in Somalia, Sudan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Israel, and the Palestinian Territories.[1] As a roving reporter for Al Jazeera English, she was among the first reporters in Somalia after the 2011 famine was announced. In 2012, she reported from Homs about the government siege. She also regularly contributes to CBS News and partners with the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting.[1] In 2018, she smuggled herself into Yemen to report on the ongoing crisis.[2]

Ferguson graduated from Lawrenceville School in the United States then received a Bachelor of Arts in Politics from the University of York.[1]

Since early 2015, Ferguson has been employed by the PBS NewsHour. For 9 years she has been living in the Middle East. She is an Arabic speaker and is based in Beirut.[3]

In 2019, she received the George Polk Award for Foreign Television Reporting for her groundbreaking coverage of the crisis in Yemen.[4]
