Jean-Louis Mandel (born 12 February 1946) is French physician and geneticist. In 1994, he won the Richard Lounsbery Award for his work in human genetics, in particular his discovery of the mutation of fragile X Syndrome. The mutation has since been found at the origin of the disease.^[1]. In 1999 he was awarded the Louis-Jeantet Prize for Medicine ^[2]
