}}Jennifer Auer Jordan is an American lawyer and politician who has represented District 6 in the Georgia State Senate since December 15, 2017. She is a member of the Democratic Party.[1]

Biography

Jordan received her bachelor's degree from Georgia Southern University and her JD from the University of Georgia School of Law.[1] After receiving her law degree, she worked as a federal clerk for judge Anthony A. Alaimo of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.[2] On December 5, 2017, she defeated fellow Democrat Jaha Howard in a runoff election for the Georgia State Senate's 6th district. Her victory in this election ended what had been a Republican supermajority in the State Senate.[3][4]

Personal life

Jordan is originally from South Georgia, coming to the Atlanta area for her law practice. She is currently married to her husband Lawton, and together they have two children.[5]
