Baldwin is an American football coach. He served as the head football coach at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette from 1999 to 2001, compiling a record of 6–27. He was an assistant coach at Louisiana Tech University from 1982 to 1991 and Louisiana State University from 1992 to 1998. Baldwin fired from his job at Louisiana–Lafayette following the 2001 season. In 2007, he was awarded $2 million by a jury in civil suit over his firing. The verdict was later reversed in an appeal.[1][2] Baldwin now resides in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he is a pastor at New Living Word Ministries and the principal of New Living Word school. He also coaches their football program.[3] Head coaching record{{CFB Yearly Record Start | type = coach | team = | conf = | bowl = | poll = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subhead| name = Louisiana–Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns | conf = NCAA Division I-A independent | startyear = 1999 | endyear = 2000 }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 1999 | name = Louisiana–Lafayette | overall = 2–9 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 2000 | name = Louisiana–Lafayette | overall = 1–10 | conference = | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subhead | name = Louisiana–Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns | conf = Sun Belt Conference | startyear = 2001 | endyear = single }}{{CFB Yearly Record Entry | championship = | year = 2001 | name = Louisiana–Lafayette | overall = 3–8 | conference = 2–4 | confstanding = | bowlname = | bowloutcome = | bcsbowl = | ranking = no | ranking2 = no }}{{CFB Yearly Record Subtotal | name = Louisiana–Lafayette | overall = 3–8 | confrecord = 2–4 }}{{CFB Yearly Record End | overall = 6–27 | bowls = no | poll = no | polltype = | legend = no }} References1. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.espn.com/ncf/news/story?id=3070227|title= Former Louisiana–Lafayette wins suit over firing|publisher=ESPN}} {{Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football coach navbox}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Baldwin, Jerry}}2. ^http://espn1420.com/baldwins-lawsuit-dismissed-by-judge/?trackback=tsmclip 3. ^{{cite news |last=Gyan Jr. |first=Joe |date=July 18, 2018 |title=Baton Rouge judge dismisses former UL-Lafayette football coach's racial discrimination suit |url=https://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/news/courts/article_57e1701a-892d-11e8-97af-2f3e62daf506.html |work=The Advocate |location=Baton Rouge, Louisiana |access-date=September 19, 2018 }} 7 : Year of birth missing (living people)|Living people|Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football coaches|Louisiana Tech Bulldogs football coaches|LSU Tigers football coaches|Sportspeople from Natchez, Mississippi|African-American coaches of American football |
