He received the 2015 Ruth Stephens Gani Medal for his research on the "missing heritability" of complex traits.[1] In 2017, he received the Frank Fenner Prize for Life Scientist of the Year from the Prime Minister of Australia for his work on the basis of genetic variation in complex human traits, such as obesity and schizophrenia.[2][3] He has researched the contribution of numerous single nucleotide polymorphisms to variation in quantitative traits, such as human height, as well as the role of natural selection in driving genetic variation in such traits. He and his colleagues have also used genetic data on common diseases to study potential environmental risk factors for them.[4][5][6] References1. ^{{cite web |title=QBI researcher wins Australian Academy of Science award |url=https://qbi.uq.edu.au/article/2014/11/qbi-researcher-wins-australian-academy-science-award |website=Queensland Brain Institute |language=en |date=24 November 2014|accessdate=23 February 2019}} 2. ^{{cite web |title=Australia’s Life Scientist of the Year delves deep into the mysteries of heritability |url=https://www.arc.gov.au/news-publications/media/feature-articles/australias-life-scientist-year-delves-deep-mysteries-heritability |website=Australian Research Council |accessdate=23 February 2019 |language=en |date=15 June 2018}} 3. ^{{cite news |last1=Slezak |first1=Michael |title=Jenny Graves wins Australia's $250,000 prime minister's prize for science |url=https://www.theguardian.com/science/2017/oct/18/jenny-graves-wins-australias-250000-prime-ministers-prize-for-science |accessdate=23 February 2019 |work=The Guardian |date=18 October 2017}} 4. ^{{cite web |last1=Koreis |first1=Darius |title=No single gene makes you tall or short |url=https://www.futurity.org/height-genetics-779142/ |website=Futurity |accessdate=23 February 2019 |date=8 October 2014}} 5. ^{{cite web |last1=Fleischfresser |first1=Stephen |title=Stats point to natural selection drivers for weight, height, schizophrenia |url=https://cosmosmagazine.com/biology/stats-point-to-natural-selection-drivers-for-weight-height-schizophrenia |website=Cosmos Magazine |accessdate=23 February 2019 |language=en |date=22 May 2018}} 6. ^{{cite web |last1=Mitchell-Whittington |first1=Amy |title=Scientists find 'good' cholesterol could increase risk of eye disease |url=https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/national/queensland/scientists-find-good-cholesterol-could-increase-risk-of-eye-disease-20180115-p4yyi6.html |website=Brisbane Times |accessdate=23 February 2019 |language=en |date=15 January 2018}} External links
