The population was 115 at the 2010 census. HistoryBelden had its start by the building of the railroad through that territory.[4] It was named for Scott Belden, a railroad official.[5] GeographyBelden is located at {{coord|42|24|42|N|97|12|28|W|type:city}} (42.411685, -97.207889).[6] According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of {{convert|0.15|sqmi|sqkm|2}}, all of it land.[7] U.S. Route 20 and Nebraska Highway 57 serve the community. There were 48 households of which 29.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.6% were married couples living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, 6.3% had a male householder with no wife present, and 20.8% were non-families. 18.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.40 and the average family size was 2.68. The median age in the village was 43.3 years. 22.6% of residents were under the age of 18; 6.9% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 22.7% were from 25 to 44; 33% were from 45 to 64; and 14.8% were 65 years of age or older. The racial makeup of the village was 100.00% White. There were 52 households out of which 26.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.5% were married couples living together, 7.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.8% were non-families. 25.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 21.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 3.00. In the village, the population was spread out with 26.0% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 19.8% from 25 to 44, 25.2% from 45 to 64, and 21.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 89.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.0 males. As of 2000 the median income for a household in the village was $43,000, and the median income for a family was $48,542. Males had a median income of $30,000 versus $28,750 for females. The per capita income for the village was $20,581. There were no families and 2.9% of the population living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and 5.3% of those over 64.
