He was High Sheriff of Cornwall in 1813,[2] and a leading figure among the gentry in the parliamentary reform movement.[3] FamilyEldest son of John Rashleigh (1742–1803) and Catherine Batty (died 1800), he had three brothers and three sisters. He married firstly Harriet Williams (died 7 July 1831) on 24 May 1808 having one child, Colman (4 May 1819 – 27 October 1896).
