ControversyKane was profiled in the 1983 documentary Children of Darkness, an exposé of the treatment of children in American psychiatric and behavioral modification institutions.[4] In the documentary, Kane was implicated in the death of several patients at South Beach Psychiartric Center in South Beach, Staten Island.[5] He subsequently resigned.[5] References1. ^1 {{cite web|title=John M.
