He is best known as the frontman of the art rock band Everything Everything, with whom he has released four studio albums and four EPs. He is notable for having an unusually wide vocal range.[1] BiographyEarly lifeHiggs was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 23 February 1985, and was raised in Northumberland. He studied in Hexham at the Queen Elizabeth High School when he was a teenager, where he first met Alex Niven and started making music with him.[2][3] Musical career and Everything EverythingHiggs went on to study performance art at Salford University, where the Everything Everything line-up became complete.[4][5] Together with Jeremy Pritchard and Michael Spearman, Higgs and Niven wrote and composed songs for their planned first album. Alex Niven eventually left the band, and the much-awaited first album Man Alive came out in 2010, one year after Niven's departure. Alex Robertshaw, a university friend of Higgs' then joined the band as the lead guitarist, in Niven's place. For the following albums, Arc (2013) and Get to Heaven (2015), Higgs took a more pertinent role in the band, taking over most of the songwriting process, becoming the band's frontman, and directing a few music videos (for "Distant Past", "Suffragette Suffragette", etc.) His high-pitched vocals became his trademark in the music world after "Kemosabe"'s release in 2013, a song which won him his first grand music award - the UK Single of the Year at the Music Producers Guild Awards. The band's fourth album, A Fever Dream, was released in 2017.
