In 1979 he became assistant professor at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology at The Ohio State University and in 1999 he became assistant professor at the Department of Human and Community Resource Development at the same university.[2] He is also adjunct professor at the University of New England in Armidale, New South Wales, the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia and the "Center for Violence Research" at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. Of the "International Journal of Rural Criminology" he was a founder and is an editor and of the "Journal of Amish and Plain Anabaptist Studies" he was co-founder and is co-editor.[2] Degrees
