Club careerGuadalajaraIn 2011, Macías joined the Guadalajara youth academy, successfully going through the ranks of the U-13, U-15, and U-17 teams. Six years later, now aged 17, coach Matías Almeyda called up Macías to form part of the first team.[2] Macías made his official debut in the in the 2017 Campeón de Campeones match against Tigres UANL.[3] On 8 August, Macías scored his first professional goal for Guadalajara in a Copa MX match against FC Juarez.[4] International careerMexico U-20On 25 October 2018, Macías was called up by Diego Ramírez to participate in the 2018 CONCACAF U-20 Championship.[5] Mexico U-21Macías was included in the final roster that participated at the 2018 Toulon Tournament.[6] He would go on to appear in three matches, as Mexico would go on being runner-up for the tournament.[7] Macías was included in the final roster that participated in the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games.[8] He appeared in two group stage matches as Mexico finished last in their group with one point.
