High schoolKamu Grugier-Hill attended Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu where he played soccer and football. Grugier-Hill began playing football in his junior year of high school as a safety and punter.[1] College careerGrugier-Hill played for the Eastern Illinois Panthers football team from 2012 to 2015. In his freshman year, he made his first start against UT Martin.[1] In both 2014 and 2015, he earned First-team All OVC honors.[1] Grugier-Hill reportedly became the first player ejected in the 2014 college football season when he punched a Minnesota lineman between the legs.[2] Professional career{{nfl predraft| height ft = 6 | height in = 2 | weight = 208 | dash = 4.45 | vertical = 38 1/2 | ten split = 1.52 | twenty split = 2.53 | shuttle = 4.20 | cone drill = 6.89 | broad ft = 10 | broad in = 9 | bench = 15 | arm span = | hand span = | note = All values from Northwestern’s Pro Day[3] }} New England PatriotsThe New England Patriots selected Grugier-Hill in the sixth round (208th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.[4] On May 5, 2016, the New England Patriots signed Grugier-Hill to a four-year, $2.44 million contract that includes a signing bonus of $100,356.[5] On September 3, 2016, he was waived by the Patriots as part of final roster cuts.[6] Philadelphia EaglesOn September 4, 2016, the Philadelphia Eagles claimed Grugier-Hill off waivers.[7] He recorded his first career tackle and his only tackle of the 2016 season when he brought down Duke Johnson of the Cleveland Browns for a loss of six yards in Week 1 at Lincoln Financial Field.[8] Because the tackle came on a fake punt, it was technically the only defensive snap which Grugier-Hill played in his rookie year.[9] On November 19, 2017, Grugier-Hill filled in on kickoffs for kicker Jake Elliott after Elliott suffered a concussion against the Dallas Cowboys. Grugier-Hill did not attempt a field goal or an extra point as the Eagles went for a two-point conversion after every touchdown. The Eagles went on to win the game 37-9.[10] Grugier-Hill won his first Super Bowl ring when the Eagles defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII 41-33.[11] Grugier-Hill recorded his first career interception by picking off a pass from New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning on October 11, 2018.[12] References1. ^1 http://www.eiupanthers.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4565 {{Patriots2016DraftPicks}}{{Super Bowl LII}}{{Philadelphia Eagles roster navbox}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Grugier-Hill, Kamu}}2. ^{{cite news|last1=DelVecchio|first1=Steve|title=Kamu Grugier-Hill ejected for nut shot on Zac Epping (Video)|url=http://larrybrownsports.com/college-football/kamu-grugier-hill-ejected-for-nut-shot-on-zac-epping-video/239757|accessdate=November 21, 2017|work=Larry Brown Sports|date=August 29, 2014}} 3. ^{{cite web |title=Kamu Grugier-Hill, DS #23 SS, Eastern Illinois |url=http://www.draftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=1004746&draftyear=2016&genpos=SS |access-date=December 10, 2018 |website=DraftScout.com}} 4. ^{{cite web|title=Patriots pick Kamu Grugier-Hill in sixth round, highlight growing hybrid trend|url=http://espn.go.com/blog/new-england-patriots/post/_/id/4792590/in-picking-kamu-grugier-hill-in-sixth-round-patriots-highlight-growing-hybrid-trend|author=Reiss, Mike|website=ESPN.com|date=April 30, 2016}} 5. ^{{cite web |title=Spotrac.com: Kamu Grugier-Hill contract |url=https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/kamu-grugier-hill-19162/ |access-date=December 10, 2018 |website=Spotrac.com}} 6. ^{{cite web|title=Patriots reach the 53-man roster limit|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20171106155435/http://www.patriots.com/news/2016/09/03/patriots-reach-53-man-roster-limit|website=Patriots.com|date=September 3, 2016}} 7. ^{{cite web|title=Eagles Claim Three Players Off Waivers|url=https://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/news/eagles-claim-three-players-off-waivers-17622246|website=PhiladelphiaEagles.com}} 8. ^{{cite web|title=Cleveland Browns at Philadelphia Eagles - September 11th, 2016|url=https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201609110phi.htm|website=Pro-Football-Reference.com|publisher=Sports Reference LLC|accessdate=November 20, 2017|language=en}} 9. ^1 {{cite news|last1=Ford|first1=Bob|title=What makes Kamu Grugier-Hill of the Eagles so special?|url=http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/kamu-grugier-hill-philadelphia-eagles-bob-ford-special-53-man-roster-20170907.html|accessdate=November 21, 2017|work=Philadelphia Inquirer|date=September 6, 2017}} 10. ^http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/11/20/eagles-linebacker-kamu-grugier-hill-overcame-rough-kicking-start/ 11. ^{{Cite web |url=https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/super/2018/02/04/super-bowl-2018-score-philadelphia-eagles-new-england-patriots/305840002/ |title=Eagles dethrone Tom Brady, Patriots for first Super Bowl title in stunner |website=USA TODAY |language=en |access-date=2019-02-25}} 12. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.delawareonline.com/story/sports/nfl/eagles/2018/10/11/eagles-decision-lane-johnson-playing-status-carson-wentz-3rd-quarterback-giants-active/1568483002/|title=Eagles start strong against Giants, but lose another key defender in Sidney Jones|first=Martin|last=Frank|work=Delaware News Journal|publisher=DelawareOnline.com|date=October 11, 2018}} 11 : 1994 births|Living people|American football linebackers|American football safeties|Eastern Illinois Panthers football players|Kamehameha Schools alumni|New England Patriots players|People from Hawaii County, Hawaii|Players of American football from Hawaii|Philadelphia Eagles players|Super Bowl champions |
