The tunnel length is {{convert|3.4|km}} and width {{convert|10|m}}. The tunnel is expected to be completed in 2020. The tunnel will be the first of its kind in Bangladesh and is expected to improve the Dhaka-Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway network.[2][3][4] A Chinese company was selected to construct it. Chinese President Xi Jinping is set visit the construction site of the Karnaphuli Tunnel.[5] [6] See also
