KAZKA (from Ukrainian казка (kazka) - fairy tale) is a musical band that performs pop with elements of electro-folk. From the moment of creation in 2017 vocalist Sasha, sopilka player Dmytro and multi-instrumentalist Mykyta have already become Ukrainian sensation, "breakthrough of the year"; the first Ukrainian-speaking band to hit the world famous chart [https://www.shazam.com/ru SHAZAM]; a record holder among domestic artists on YouTube. The band has headed musical ratings in a dozen countries, including Ukraine, Latvia, Bulgaria, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Russia, Colombia, and so on.

Band history

For the first time the band "KAZKA" emerged on March 1, 2017 with its debut release of the song "Sviata", which immediately became a hit and conquered the radio stations of Ukraine. Initially, the band consisted of a vocalist Oleksandra Zaritska and multi-instrumentalist Nikita Budash (guitar, keyboard), who also works on arrangement and sound engineering of the songs. The debut кліп video clip of the band was made on this very song. Serhii Tkachenko directed the clip. Video on «Sviata» is a minimalist work in red shades. Only members of the band are as they are. The mystical picture is completed by the ancient Slavic symbols (Dazhbog, the Star of the Virgin Lada, Zervan, Koliada, the Star of Herest, Bilobog and others).

Participation in X-Factor

In 2017 the band participated in casting of X-Factor 8 with the original song «Sviata». Andrii Danylko became the band’s mentor. At the end of the year, the band was set to be "Best Debut of the Year" by the version of the online magazine Karabas Live.

In the beginning of 2018 Dmytro Mazuryak joined the band, who plays more than thirty wind instruments. On January 6, it became known that the band will take part in national selection for the 63rd Eurovision Song Contest and according to the results of the draw, on February 10, performed in the first semi-finals of national selection with the song «Dyva». According to the results of the viewer voting and the jury, "KAZKA" took the sixth place without reaching the finals.

«KARMA»

On April 27, 2018 the band’s debut album «KARMA» was released online. Ten songs were included in the album: three already known — «Sviata», «Dyva», «Sama», cover on Movchaty by Skriabin and Iryna Bilyk and six new tracks. ^[2]The band presented the album live at their first solo show in Kyiv club Atlas on June 1.[4] Single «Sviata» became «best pop band song» and the band became «Best debut» according to the radio station Kraina FM. For the first time, the Ukrainian-speaking band has entered into one of the most prestigious world charts TOP 10 Global Shazam. KAZKA has become an absolute record among domestic artists by the number of views and has hit TOP 100 of the best clips on YouTube. The musicians have been repeatedly awarded with the title "Breakthrough of the Year", and for the song "Plakala" they received the "Hit of the Year" award and featured in the rating of the most popular tracks of Ukraine according to Apple Music. The band has headed musical ratings in a dozen countries, including Ukraine, Latvia, Bulgaria, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Russia, Colombia, and other. In the summer, KAZKA participated in various Ukrainian festivals such as «BeLive»(Kyiv), Impulse (Kharkiv), «MRPL City» (Mariupol). In the autumn the band started the Ukrainian "KARMA Tour" in support of the album of the same name, where drummer Ievhen Kostyts and a trio of chorists Vasylyna Tkachuk, Daryna Salii and Yaryna Sizyk joined them. And already in the winter the band announced the tour in America and Europe.
