From 2012 to 2017, she was editor-in-chief of Condé Nast weddings magazine Brides, becoming the first African-American to hold the editor-in-chief title at Condé Nast. Early lifeMinor grew up in Harvard, Massachusetts, and attended the University of Massachusetts-Amherst,[1] then Howard University Law School, where she graduated in 1999.[2] CareerMinor practiced corporate law for four years before moving to magazines,[3] first joining Travel Savvy where she eventually became editor-in-chief. She also worked for Los Angeles Confidential, then as editor-in-chief of Gotham from 2005 to 2007 and Uptown (2008 to 2011)[4] before joining Condé Nast.[5] Minor became executive editor of Brides, the world's largest weddings publication,[6] in 2011,[7] then acting editor-in-chief when previous editor-in-chief Anna Fulenwider moved to Marie Claire; the promotion became permanent in November 2012.[8] This made Minor the first African-American to hold the editor-in-chief title in Condé Nast's then-103-year history.[9] At Brides, Minor oversaw the expansion of the publication into commercial endeavors,[10] including making editors from the magazine available for hire as private consultants to individual brides.[11] In 2013, The Grio named Minor to its Grio 100 list, citing her "breaking Conde Nast's color barrier at Brides."[12] Minor resigned from Condé Nast in 2017.[13] References1. ^{{cite news|url=https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/conde-nast-promotes-washington-area-native-keija-minor-to-helm-brides/2012/09/26/96d164a4-0816-11e2-afff-d6c7f20a83bf_story.html|title=Conde Nast promotes Washington area native Keija Minor to helm ‘Brides’|last1=Farhi|first1=Paul|date=26 September 2012|work=The Washington Post|accessdate=5 December 2016}} {{authority control}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Minor, Keija}}2. ^{{Cite web|url=https://magazine.howard.edu/categories/features/day-without-howard|title=A Day Without Howard|last=|first=|date=October 19, 2017|website=Howard Magazine|publisher=Howard University|language=en|archive-url=|archive-date=|dead-url=|access-date=2018-06-24}} 3. ^{{cite news|last1=Popp|first1=Emily|title=Trendsetters at Work: Brides|url=http://www.eonline.com/news/567241/trendsetters-at-work-brides-magazine|accessdate=16 December 2016|work=E!
